Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg is hiring a Grant Writer!

As a Grant Writer you will research potential federal, state and private grant sources, and write and edit proposals. Act as a community liaison when researching and developing grant information. Partners with leadership and community agencies to foster increased collaboration, reduce duplication of services, coordinate funding efforts, and collect and evaluate programmatic data. Consistent and direct communication with the Manager for updates and approvals for moving forward on all grant opportunities.

Looking for someone excited about advancing the healthcare available to the Shenandoah Valley. The Institutional Giving and Grants Specialist has the opportunity to play an important role in elevating the accessibility and quality of healthcare our community receives.

The successful candidate will be charged with identifying, nurturing and growing federal, state and private institutional funding that helps advance Sentara RMH's mission. Working closely with and reporting to the Manager for Community Health, this role will:

  • Identify, develop, and write proposals to federal, state and private institutional grant sources.
  • Build and steward relationships with government, corporate, and private institutional funders.
  • Maintain relationships with funders through the collection, evaluation, and reporting of program outcomes.
  • Manage grants calendar including deadlines for requests and reports as well as annual projections.
  • Work with community partners to foster increased collaboration, advance shared goals, and coordinate funding efforts.
  • Work with leaders and clinicians across the health system to identify funding needs and develop potential solutions.
  • Collaborate with the RMH Foundation to capture and optimize funding provided through grant awards and sponsorships.

Monday- Friday Day Shift-

Full Time

Physical Location: Sentara RMH Atrium at 2000 Beery Rd. in Harrisonburg

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree; Human Services or related field required. Masters Human Services or related field preferred.
Previous experience in grant writing, working with community collaborations and partnerships, and collection and evaluation of programmatic data.
