This position will manage clinical research staff supporting clinical trials in the departments of surgery, orthopedics, emergency medicine, and others, as needed (approximately 8 FTEs).

The Clinical Research Manager is responsible for overall study operations, including:

  • Direct supervision, recruitment, workload management, and development of staff.
  • Study performance management for startup, enrollment, data entry, closeout, and quality assurance.
  • Ensure team's adherence to site's standard operating procedures, Good Clinical Practice, and federal regulations for clinical research.
  • Responsible for establishing effective working relationships with senior management, principal and sub-investigators, study teams, sponsors, and other external consultants.
  • Assist with development of departmental SOPs, policies, and educational programming.
  • Assist with review of study feasibility for new trials.
  • Assist with clinical trial budget monitoring and invoiceable activity.
  • Proactively solve problems with understanding of appropriate escalation procedures.
What We Require:

Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, science, or related field required. Master's degree in related field preferred.


Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a clinical trial/research setting AND a master's degree in a related field OR Minimum of six (6) years of experience in a clinical trial/research setting AND a bachelor's degree in a related field required. Prior clinical trial and/or staff management experience preferred.


Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) preferred upon hire. Will be required to obtain a research certification within one (1) year of hire if not previously obtained.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work with diverse community of people and relate to wide variety of professional levels. Advanced knowledge of human subjects research regulations. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills. Adaptability to adjust to changing priorities and ability to process large volumes of information. Highly organized. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Strong leadership skills desired.
