Receives job card from Senior Planner/Scheduler, Press Room Coordinator, or Supervisor. Selects die and makes complete set up on presses, brakes, circle shear, rolling machine, trimming machine, and automatic stock feeder, using a variety of mechanical tools. Transports appropriate die from die rack to machine using powered industrial trucks and manual hand trucks. Works from pattern, print, or lay-out plate. Utilizes proper safety lockout procedure when performing die changes. Ensures all safety guards, pullbacks, light curtains, etc., are in place and operating properly before completing set up. Signs off on pullback adjustment card upon completing set up. Runs first few pieces and checks against print to give first piece inspection approval. Reports improper equipment operation and defective parts to Supervisor. Records time and production and performs other duties as necessary.
