Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Clinical Risk Manager!

Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift

Position Location: This position will require travel to various healthcare practices Northeast of Richmond, VA and in to the Blue Ridge area (to include So Boston, Harrisonburg, Charlottesville), 3-4 days per week to support area practices.

Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (ET).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare related field required.
  • Masters degree in Business or Health related field preferred.
  • 2 years experience, which can include healthcare, nursing, regulatory/compliance, business, risk management, legal, and/or insurance Associate in Risk Management
  • CPH RM (Cert Professional Healthcare Risk Management), (ARM) certification, Certified Safety Professional (CSP),or Certified Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) required within 3 years of hire.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee facility/division's risk management activities, which include coordinating insurance coverage and risk financing, managing claims against the division/facility, interfacing with claims adjusters and defense legal counsel
  • Coordinates and Maintains a loss control program, administering the risk management program on a day-to-day basis
  • Managing and analyzing risk management data
  • Conducting risk management educational programs
  • Coordinates with division leaders and collaborates with clinical teams to develop strategies to prevent medical error and reduce loss
  • Engages team members to evaluate incidents and conduct investigation provide for appropriate response to claims
  • Ensures compliance with risk management related laws and regulation to control and minimize losses
  • Identifies trends and reviews System reports; conducts loss control audits; and conducts reviews to evaluate patient care quality and to identify possible risk exposures
  • Participates with select committees related to the assessment of patient care and safety, customer satisfaction and facility issues to assist in providing risk management expertise and direction

Job Summary
