Roanoke, VA - Filling industrialChristiansburg, VA - Retail shopHow will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?Discover an exciting Career with AIRGAS!!The Field Service Discipline within the technical function has a technician performing in the above capacities specifically for applicable Air Liquide equipment including oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, helium and carbon dioxide liquid and gas storage systems; Telemetry equipment; Instrumentation and FLOXAL systems including air compressors and various small on-site nitrogen generation systems. the incumbent reports to the local Field Service Coordinator (FSC). The Field Service Technician (FST) coordinates his/her activities with outside services providers , customer service engineering, sales, and distribution on installations and removals. All work must be performed in conformance with established safety procedures while ensuring customer satisfaction with the appearance and operation of every installation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.
Installs, initiates operation, maintains, inspects, tests, trouble shoots, and repairs equipment at customers site to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of Air Liquide products to the customers point of use.
Serves as a key point of contact and coordination between the company and the customer to meet all requirements safely, efficiently and economically
Deliver, install and maintain all cryogenic pressure vessels in the customer base.
Perform preventative maintenance checks on a regularly scheduled basis of all cryogenic pressure vessels.
Maintain inventory of parts and supplies needed to perform duties.
Handle hazardous materials daily in a safe and approved manner.
Install piping and final line regulator systems for medical and industrial applications.
Set alarms for automatic emergency reserve systems of gases at hospitals.
Install manifolds for use with high-pressure gas cylinders.
Install and maintain cryogenic pumps and drives at all branch locations.
Perform sight surveys at prospective customer locations to determine what needs to be done to perform the installations.
Install and maintain cryogenic pumping systems on delivery trucks.
Maintain a clean and safe workplace and attend safety meetings.

________________________Are you a MATCH?A minimum of 4-5 year diagnostic and repair experience in some or all of the following is required: cryogenics, high pressure piping, brazing, electrical, circuits, (including 3 phase power), refrigeration (EPA certified in refrigerant recovery), PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and process instrumentation.
Skills to prioritize integrated service activities so as to maximize the time spent working on equipment at customers locations.
Demonstrated ability to ensure the optimum quantity/quality/ cost of service work performed while also:
- completing paperwork in a timely, accurate and completed fashion
- providing for the appropriate use of company assets
- securing the necessary documentation of work performed (installations and/ or removals)
- compiling billing information (if applicable) and total related costs of all work performed.
Expertise and knowledge to comply with all applicable governmental and Air Liquide policies, regulations, and procedures.
knows and applies all applicable standards for good manufacturing practice set forth by the CGA, NFPA, CMA and other professional/ regulatory bodies.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
*High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
*Must be able to obtain a Medical Certificate and Brazing License.
* Must maintain a valid drivers license allowing operation of a vehicle over 10,000 Ib. GVW (with clean driving record).
