Description:

  • The Appian Lead/Architect is a client-facing, subject-matter expert role. Candidates should have deep Appian Platform expertise and strong interpersonal skills. The Lead/Architect is responsible for client delivery, proposal support, new business opportunity identification, knowledge management, and must be able to materially influence the successful outcome of specific objectives of the Appian practice growth. The Lead/Architect owns the solution construction including the engagement approach and technical components presented to the client.

Essential Functions & Duties:

  • Experience leveraging non-Appian components as part of the overall system design
  • Experiencing architecting solutions that integrate with cloud services
  • Produce technical Appian architecture, develop system requirements, identify resources, and estimate timelines for project completion.
  • Provide the technical connection between project managers, business analysts and developers by clearly communicating business functional issues to clients and internal staff
  • Manage complex projects including responsibility for project timelines, deliverables, and resources during all project phases, from requirements gathering through go-live and post deployment client support.
  • Assist in the scoping of prospective engagements, developing proposals, planning, logistics, and the execution of project management processes
  • Conduct business process and requirements analysis and advise clients on key architectural decisions concerning the platform and the supporting technologies.
  • Lead, build, test, and deliver intelligent automation solutions using industry leading vendor technologies, specifically Appian
  • Evaluate risks related to requirements management, business process definition, testing processes, internal controls, project communications, training, and organizational change management
  • Develop new concepts and methodologies to improve people, procedures, and information technology solutions
  • Contribute to an environment where people and technology thrive together to accomplish more than they could apart.
  • Participate in practice development and continuously look to improve the delivery model and implementation process
  • Contribute to thought leadership across the platform including ideation and design of new accelerators.
  • Follow and understand new Appian product and technical capabilities resulting from product releases and acquisitions.
  • Provide hands-on, expert-level technical assistance, coaching and mentoring to developers and other junior staff.

Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:

  • Appian software development experience (minimum 5 years of experience)
  • Minimum Appian Certified Senior Developer.
  • Knowledge of Appian software design, web development and design languages. Understanding and hands-on experience with Agile software development methodologies. Strong desire to learn customer business processes.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Highly adaptable to rapidly changing environments and situations.
  • Effectively prioritizes work and has well-honed problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with strong self-management skills.
  • Have direct experience implementing a non-Appian system with Appian to fulfill customer requirements
  • Have direct experience writing code and automated unit tests using other programming languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python
  • Travel for 1 week quarterly expected.
Certifications:
Minimum Appian certified senior developer

Citizenship or Work Authorization Required:

  • US citizen

Education & Experience required:

  • Must have a STEM (Science, Technology, engineering, or Math) degree from a creditable University/College

Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $133,000 - $190,000.

Essential Job Function Physical Requirements: The physical requirements of this position are critical in evaluating the qualifications and abilities of an applicant or employee. The physical efforts needed to perform the essential duties of this job 90% of the time are repetitive motions, grasping, holding, and finger dexterity of the hands, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, color distinction, and full visual abilities, hearing, talking, sitting, and use of IT equipment, phones, and office machines.

To a reduced degree, <30% of the time, candidates may have to stand, walk, lift 0-30 pounds, push or pull objects, climb stairs, bend, squat, reach, drive a car, or work overtime.
