JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Delivers prepared function space for guests by vacuuming function space, removing all trash, and removing all unnecessary supplies; setting space according to the Event Order with supplies, including but not limited to, tables, chairs, AV equipment, candy, paper, pencils, glasses, cloths, skirting, dance floor, staging, podiums and ice water; verifying that all AV equipment works and fixing/replacing items that do not work.
  • Develops relationship with group leader by greeting him/her; bringing additional supplies as requested; instructing guests in the operation of AV equipment, lights, and thermostat controls as needed; answering questions regarding the resort and/or the guest's function; informing guest about Conference Center policies
  • Contributes to guest experience during meetings by refreshing ice water and candy in function space during breaks in meetings; picking up trash in function space during breaks in meetings; emptying trash cans in function space during breaks in meetings as needed; enforcing Conference Center policies with all groups.
  • Maintains and cleans Conference Center by breaking down function space after meetings/functions are completed; storing all AV equipment in proper designated place after meetings/functions are completed; vacuuming function space after meetings/functions are completed; removing trash from function space and common areas of Conference Center as needed daily; checking carpet for stains and gum daily; checking light bulbs in function space and common areas of Conference Center daily and replacing as needed; checking walls, windowsills, and windows for smudges/dirt weekly and cleaning as needed; cleaning furnishings of Conference Center including but not limited to tables, pictures, lamps, chairs, couches, and mirrors weekly; removing any stray dishes, cups and glasses from the Conference Center as needed; checking for stained ceiling tiles daily and informing manager of any that should be replaced; checking light switches, outlets and thermostats weekly to ensure they are working and notifying manager of any maintenance needed; vacuuming commons area of Conference Center at least every other day and more often as needed.
  • Maintains Conference Center equipment by understanding the technical complexities of all AV equipment including, but not limited to, personal computers, LCD projectors, overhead projectors, slide projectors, TV/VCR's, and audio systems especially complex lavaliere microphones; storing all AV equipment, tables, chairs, podiums, dance floor, etc. in proper designated secure and safe locations; checking all AV equipment, tables, chairs, podiums, dance floor, etc. to make sure it is in safe working order and reporting any maintenance or replacement needed to manager; cleaning all AV equipment, tables, chairs, podiums, dance floor, etc.; getting cloths and skirting cleaned as needed and notifying manager of any repairs or replacements that are needed; cleaning Conference Services van as needed and informing manager of any more extensive repairs and/or maintenance needed; ensuring that the Conference Services van has sufficient gasoline.
  • Maintains supplies for Conference Center by notifying manager when candy, pencils/pens, pads, cleaning supplies, trash bags, light bulbs, etc. are needed; obtaining supplies from appropriate source as requested by manager.
  • Opens Conference Center for daily business by unlocking and opening main doors, door to Mountain Lodge lobby, elevators, electronic doors and doors to any function space that will be used that day; turning on all lights in common areas of Conference Center and in any meeting rooms that will be used that day; putting out all directional and informational signs for the day; putting signs in holders on any meeting room doors for space that is used that day; adjusting thermostats to standard in common areas of the Conference Center and any meeting rooms that will be used that day; turning on and adjusting the music system in the Conference Center.
  • Closes and secures Conference Center at the end of daily business by closing and locking main doors, door to Mountain Lodge lobby(as needed), elevators(as needed), electronic doors, back employee entrance doors by office and restaurant, Good Time Bobby's kitchen door (as needed), any outside glass doors that were opened during the day, office doors (as needed), and doors to all function space; closing and locking all windows in meeting rooms; turning off all lights in common areas of Conference Center, back hall (as needed) and in all meeting rooms; bringing into secured area all directional and informational signs; putting signs in holders on any meeting room doors for space that is used the next day; adjusting thermostats to standard in common areas of the Conference Center and all meeting rooms; turning off the music and sound system in the Conference Center.
  • Maintains good working relationships with all on mountain departments by developing and continuing excellent communications; enforcing Conference Center policies with all groups.
  • Exceeds our internal and external guests and partners expectations and company goals by creating the best mountain experience again and again; responding to guest feedback and informing manager of that feedback as needed; anticipating guests' needs and responding to them when possible; enforcing Conference Center policies with all groups.
  • Contributes to personal and professional growth by discussing entrepreneurial and innovative ideas with manager; informing manager of outside training opportunities in which incumbent would like to participate.
  • Contributes to TEAM effort by accomplishing related results as needed. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Any Alterra employee or volunteer who operates a company vehicle including cars, trucks, snowcats, snowmobiles, or heavy equipment is required to comply with the Alterra Driver's Standards Policy. This policy also applies to employees or volunteers driving their personal vehicles for company business more than four times per month, averaging 30+ miles per trip.
