The Survey Project Manager directs projects, planning, scheduling, data development, provides oversight and reporting supporting transportation projects involving geospatial technologies. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop detailed deliverables, establish, and improve client relationships and growth, secure repeat opportunities within a client base and assist in the growth of new business opportunities with Department of Transportation (DOT)and local municipalities throughout Virginia.

Responsibilities
    Develop businessopportunities within the Transportation and Rail industry that includes state DOTs, transit authorities, cities, or counties within Virginia.
  • Drive and develop teaming opportunities with other geospatial and engineering firms in Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Facilitate scoping meetings with clients to determine needs analysis and project requirements.
  • Direct and collaborate with cross-functional teams across all project tasks.
  • Analyze project resource needs and work with Team Leaders to determine budget and appropriate resources for projects.
  • Create a detailed project scope, schedule and budget.
  • Develop and communicate work breakdown structure to Team Leaders
  • Ensure deliverables and quality standards are met in accordance with the agreed scope, schedule, budgetand client standards.
  • Collaborate with senior management to resolve schedule and budget problems as they arise and implement corrective action plans when deviations from budgets and/or schedules are evident.
  • Facilitate client-facing change management and provide on-going communication throughout the project.
  • Conduct project close-out meetings and document lessons learned.
  • Manage, monitor, and forecast metrics including Profit and Loss, Sales, and Net Revenue for the portfolio.
  • Accountable for the successful delivery of assigned projects.
Qualifications
  • Professional Land Surveyor License in Virginia preferred, SIT required; multi-state licensure a plus.
  • Survey/Geospatial industry work experience (10 or more years), including the following areas:
    • Traditional boundary,Right-of-Way (ROW) and topographic route design surveys
    • Experience in photogrammetric principles
    • Experience in aerial, mobile and/or terrestrial lidar
    • Knowledge of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) to local standards.
  • Managing technical (survey/geospatial DOT and locality) projects (5 or more years).
  • Professional experience driving new business development and delivery oversight for geospatialprojects within the transportation industry, knowledge of state DOT specifications.
  • Examples of complex geospatial projects completed or ongoingin the transportation industry or for localities.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of MicroStation, Open Roads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and other geospatial software is desired.
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employmentverification and drugscreening.
  • Must be able to travel 40% to client sites, conferences and other Woolpert related functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and build strong relationships with clients and industry leaders.
  • Strong technical proficiency required, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals.
  • Adaptabilityand responsivenessto industry changes as well as internal initiatives.
