Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training for WPS III personnel.
  • Supervise and conduct DDM weapon requalifications for WPS III personnel.
  • Coordinate and conduct refresher training and firearms re-qualifications for WPS III personnel.
  • A bio-approved DDMTI is authorized to fill the position/labor category of the Protective Security Specialist (PSS) and PSS/DDM as required and with the approval of the CO or COR.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must attend and successfully complete a sniper/DDM/sharpshooter program issued by a military, law enforcement, or security (government or commercial) training program. This sniper/DDM/sharpshooter program must be of suitable complexity and quality to adequately prepare the graduate for successful performance as a WPS III DDM. Examples of programs that meet this requirement include, but are not limited to: U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Scout/Sniper U.S. Army Sniper School U.S. Special Forces Sniper School (formerly SOTIC) Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Hostage Rescue Team (HRT)/Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Mobile Security Division (MSD) DDM National Tactical Officer's Association (NTOA)-recognized law enforcement sniper course.
  • Must possess a minimum of (2) years as an instructor in a security field.
  • Must possess a minimum of one (1) year experience working as a FTE firearms instructor; this experience must have been earned as part of other federal, state, or local government training assignments.
  • Must possess a minimum of five (5) years' experience in protective security assignments.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of this experience must be as a DDM/sniper/sharpshooter. Candidates claiming military experience must have either a sniper military occupation specialty (MOS) or additional skill identifier (ASI). If claiming law enforcement experience for this requirement, must be full-time and not as a collateral duty.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of this experience must have been in a supervisory or in-charge capacity.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of this experience must have been in protective security under WPS III or any of its predecessor contracts.
  • Remaining experience may be gained in the employ of any national, state, provincial, local, or commercial entities providing armed guard services that require skills similar to those identified in the guard training course as outlined in WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 2,

Training.

Upon bio approval and before beginning work on the contract, the DDMTI-P shall:

  • Attend and successfully complete the PSS and DDM training courses as outlined in the WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 2, Training.
  • Qualify with the Glock-19, M4 or MK18 as specified by the designated TO, M249, M240, and SR25, re-qualifying as required by the TO.
  • Qualify with the MK12, as required by the TO, requalifying as required in the WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 3, Firearms Qualification Standards.
  • Maintain minimum M4 or MK18 qualification score of ninety-five (95) percent (i.e. 285 out of 300) or better on the DS qualification course of fire.
  • The candidate shall maintain this qualification level with the M4 or MK18 as specified by the designated TO throughout contract performance under this labor category.
  • Attend and successfully complete the DS BFFOC training course as outlined in WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 2, Training.
  • Obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance or Public Trust certification, as identified in the TO.
  • Complete the WPS III Physical Readiness Test, per WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 15, Physical Readiness Test Protocols and Standards, at the sixty-five (65) percent performance level, and maintain that fitness level for the duration of his/her service on the TO.
