We are seeking qualified candidates for an HR Business Partner located at our Corporate Headquarters in Glen Allen, Virginia. The HRBP is responsible for aligning Hamilton Beach Brand's people strategy with the business strategy and objectives within designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to internal customers to support the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business' financial indicators, priorities, and its competition. This hybrid role requires being on site Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week; Mondays and Fridays are optional remote work days.

Responsibilities of the position:

The HR Business Partner consults with, advises, and trains management and employees of assigned business unit(s) regarding all general HR activities including:

  • Employee Relations - Working with management to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention, resolve complex employee issues and conduct investigations
  • Talent Management - Learning and Development, Succession Planning, and Performance Management guidance
  • Talent Acquisition - Identification of talent, working with business unit(s) to forecast, budget, identification of skills gaps, turnover and growth plans for staffing, and driving the offer process
  • Compensation and Benefits - Supporting assigned unit(s) regarding compensation structure, job pricing and internal position grades, promotions, and advising management regarding the annual salary review process
  • Collaborate with all members of the Global HR Team

Requirements of the position include:

  • 4-year degree in HR management, business, or related field; equivalent education and experience will be considered; HR Certification (SHRM or HRCI) is highly desired
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing HR teams and resolving complex HR issues within the HR Generalist genre
  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership competency skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and a customer service attitude are essential
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply appropriate applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies; must be able to support strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Work experience must include working in a collaborative HR environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate a proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR Information Systems; hands-on experience with ADP WorkforceNow is desirable
