Overview

The HR Generalist will partner with Operations and Human Resources leadership to provide professional guidance in the areas of employee relations, benefits, payroll, safety, training, employee development and talent acquisition. The HR Generalist will coordinate and facilitate various Human Resources activities and programs. This position reports to the Human Resource Manager.

Pay Range: 50k-60k yearly

Responsibilities

    Administers various human resource programs and procedures for all assigned region personnel; assists in the implementation of personnel policies and procedures and interpretation of the employee handbook.
  • Assures compliance with the compensation program; monitors and executes the performance evaluation program.
  • Conducts intake meetings with employees and / or managers to help resolve questions, concerns and/or complaints involving workplace conduct, performance issues, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to employees and management regarding interpretation, compliance, and enforcement of Human Resource policies and procedures, state and federal laws including ADA, FMLA and Workers Compensation.
  • Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing, as needed.
  • Participates in P & L meetings, district meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Apprises Operations management and employees on the status of issues and concerns being addressed and recommendations or disciplinary actions as appropriate.
  • Deploys various programs to the operations department as deemed necessary by management.
  • Participates in the facilitation of the organization's training and new hire orientation programs.
  • Partners with Operations management to assure successful onboarding of new employees.
  • Communicates benefits information and helps to answer benefit, payroll and timekeeping related questions.
  • Reports, monitors and provides follow-up on open workers' compensation cases.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts for all Store exempt and nonexempt personnel
  • Assists with safety programs and activities as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Management, Human Resources, or related field and 2 - 4 years of human resources experience or any like combination of education and experience.
  • HR certification, a plus
  • Firm understanding of employment laws.
  • Strong ability to help resolve employee issues and concerns.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite products.
  • Experience with Kronos a plus.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Strong initiative, ability to anticipate issues proactively.
  • Critical thinker, active listener, and effective time manager.
  • Team player who is focused on providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of reliability and responsibility.
  • Discreet, able to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately.
