Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production/Engineering Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of leadership, problem-solving, and engineering skills to oversee and optimize our production processes. This role requires effective leadership abilities to manage a team, analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, and technical expertise to ensure efficient production operations.

Leadership (50%)

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of production workers to achieve production targets and quality standards.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Facilitate performance reviews and discussion to assess employee progress and development needs.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, safety, and employee morale.
  • Actively partners with site and value stream leaders on labor sharing, order level loading, and achievement of Core KPI's.
  • Coordinates the daily operations performed by leads and hourly employees to ensure work is performed to meet the standards established by the company.
  • Actively participates in and promotes the Continuous Improvement culture of Gemini.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
  • Models and prioritizes the importance of shop floor organization and cleanliness.
  • Manages the onboarding process of new employees including introductions and training.
  • Models and provides leadership with a sense of urgency regarding safety and environmental rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Engineering (25%)

  • Utilize engineering knowledge to optimize production processes and improve efficiency while managing capital/improvement project implementations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and the engineering team to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to manufacturing processes.

Problem Solving (25%)

  • Identify and address production issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Analyze root causes of production problems and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex production challenges.
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential production risks.
  • Continuously monitor production performance metrics and take proactive measures to address deviations from targets.

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years with a proven success in a supervisory or leadership role within a plant manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical skills with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving with a focus on continuous improvement, organizational skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members at all levels..
  • Knowledge of production scheduling practices and the ability to prioritize orders based on ship dates.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in shop floor control, production planning, inventory control and project management applications.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to manufacturing operations.

Must be willing to consistently assist employees on the shop floor to build teamwork, participate in continuous improvement events and meet production schedules.
