The Loudoun County Department of Family Services is currently seeking multiple talented and highly motivated candidates who are looking to work in a diverse, exciting, and fast paced work environment and have a desire to help Loudoun County residents obtain public benefits and work with staff to enhance their professional development.
These positions are responsible for oversight of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP), Medicaid and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) programs. This position would also have a specialty area to oversee, which could include Long Term Care Medicaid, Training and Quality Control, Energy Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance or Title IV-E Foster Care. Responsibilities include direct, daily oversight of a Public Benefits team of approximately 6-8 staff who process new public benefits applications and provide ongoing case management for public benefits recipients. This position is responsible for evaluation of service delivery to ensure State timeliness and accuracy mandates are met through daily report monitoring and case review. This position is also responsible for providing on-site, on-call supervisory coverage for customers that visit and call the agency. Additional duties include staff training, strategic planning for unit performance, collaboration with community contacts, and supporting staff in their professional development.
These positions are located in our Leesburg and Sterling offices, and will be required to rotate to other locations, as requested.
People who are successful in this role:
Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field related; three (3) years of professional experience in a social services public benefits department including one (1) year supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
