Job Description

The Division of Human Resources is seeking a detail-oriented candidate with strong customer service skills to work as an HR Systems Support Coordinator in support of a streamlined HR experience for all Virginia Tech stakeholders.
This role will serve as the HR Applications team point of contact for handling inquiries from employees and others regarding HR related administrative systems access and processes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing clear, thorough, and knowledgeable customer service related to the Human Resources suite of applications; working effectively with a broad range of constituencies in a diverse community; managing system access requests for HR systems; overseeing the annual HR data access audit; maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality, with particular regard to Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
The ideal candidate will be able to use an advanced ticketing system to track customer inquiries, gather data, monitor response time, increase response accuracy, and enhance the customer's overall experience.

Required Qualifications

* Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional administrative support or customer service in an academic setting.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner with all individuals in a diverse, multicultural environment.
* Experience coordinating the resolution of issues in administrative operations, systems, or applications.
* The ability to work independently without direct supervision.
* Ability to exercise excellent judgment, discretion, and initiative to improve operational efficiencies.
* Experience with payroll and/or human resources management systems, such as Banner.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, management, or related field or equivalent level of training and experience.
* Experience interpreting and applying human resources policies and procedures.
* Experience working in a Higher Education environment.
* Experience with online applicant tracking systems, such as PageUp.
* Ability to utilize an incident management system such as ServiceNow or Team Dynamix to track customer support and feedback.
