This position functions as a Country Analyst in the Combatting Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Security Cooperation Engagement Program. The Country Analyst manages a portfolio of partner nation activities. The Country Analyst assists Valiant and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in developing partner nation CWMD capabilities through building partnership capacity (BPC) activities. The Country Analyst understands, identifies, and characterizes mission requirements to assist partner nations in developing Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Companies, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Platoons, incident management systems, and national response plans related to HazMat and CBRN. The successful candidate works closely with the customer organization and Valiant subject matter experts to plan and validate support to training and equipping missions overseas. The primary tasks include implementing, tracking, and assessing support plans through analysis, project management, and communication with subject matter experts, functional managers, vendors, subcontractors, and partner nation personnel. The Country Analyst will conduct extensive international travel to their portfolio of countries.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively communicates with Government counterparts, subject matter experts, and partner nation personnel to understand portfolio context, requirements, and high-level plans.
  • Plans and executes support to international training events including course materials, event support, and student travel support.
  • Plans and executes equipment purchases for assigned portfolio.
  • Communicates with Government and U.S. Embassy personnel and Valiant logistics team to identify shipping requirements, tariff exemption approaches, and support shipment planning and execution.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prioritize work and complete multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • Possess excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Work well within a team consisting of personnel from the customer Department of State, Combatant Command, partner nation, and Valiant colleagues.
  • Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at a minimum of a Secret level.

  • Demonstrated experience providing written analytical products
  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing work and completing multiple tasks under deadlines
  • Program or operational experience with CWMD, CBRN, or HazMat required
  • Program experience with individual and team training and curriculum is desired
  • Program experience with international engagements is desired
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be able to transport and lift 40-pound boxes of documents and equipment
  • Must be able to travel unaccompanied to foreign locations, including possessing a current valid Passport and meeting immunization requirements for travel.
  • Must be able to type proficiently.
  • Must have sufficient creditworthiness to secure and maintain a company travel card.
