Job Description

The University Libraries Studios Network consists of spaces that provide access to the tools and technologies used in creation processes for all library patrons. Reporting to the Manager, Studios Media & Lending Services, the Media Studios Technical Support Specialist position will
troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hardware and equipment owned by the University Libraries Studios Network. This role will include supervising student workers as well as responsibilities to provide consultation hours to library patrons and/or teach workshops on behalf of the Studios Network.

All Studios Network positions entail interacting with all patrons of the studios, regardless of race, gender, or status, in a welcoming and friendly manner. Patrons will range from those with no experience with technology to those very familiar with the equipment and software that the Studios provide access to. Required Qualifications

-Excellent customer service experience.
-Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
-Experience documenting and tracking inventory, ordering, billing, and/or maintenance processes.
-Knowledge of audio, video, photography, and/or media design hardware and software.
-Experience working independently without supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience in understanding and supporting emerging technologies and hardware.
-Prior experience supervising and training others.
-Demonstrated experience instructing others in the use of technology.
-Experience working in collaborative research environments.
-Proven ability to organize physical spaces and manage logistics of a large number of physical items.

Additional Information

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
  • Average 30-34 hours per week to be determined by the supervisor and successful candidate.
  • Work schedule will include Saturday and Sunday-12pm-5pm.
  • Hours will vary depending on school breaks and holidays.
