We are looking for an exceptionally driven Business Development Manager to drive our Defense business forward to ensure our CAGE Code is listed on AVLs as well as continue to support our customers (current and new) with their working cable and harsh environment cable needs. The successful candidate should have a strong technology background, coupled with a business acumen that blends strategy and execution to focus on growing our business. This role will report directly to the CEO of Hexatonic Rochester Cable.
Key Responsibilities Include
Exploring new product and market growth areas in the Defense space including working with other Hexatronic businesses to maximize the group content on any given platform
Extensive interaction with external stakeholders (customers and partners) and internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, product-management, engineering, operations, finance) by continuously reviewing and identifying opportunities for TAM/SAM expansion, identify opportunities that will positively impact the Rochester Cable business, determine intercept opportunities, develop value proposition, position the product/portfolio, and conduct targeted promotion to realize revenue goals
Being able to identify gaps to close for new business and technology growth areas with the intent of addressing key market/customer needs and profitable growth
Owning and converting opportunities into tangible actions that drive profitable growth for Rochester Cable and identify cross-selling opportunities from other areas of the Hexatronic family
Working with our inside sales and program management teams to develop customer proposals
Demonstrating strong program-management mindset to drive growth initiatives
Owning, maintaining, and driving progress dashboards plus preparing reports in relationship to meeting financial goals, identification of new opportunities, new customers, and pipelines
Must be able to work out of our facility in Culpeper, Virginia
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

7 - 10 years in Business Development, Strategy, Product Management and/or Sales; strong background in Engineering preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in business management or related field preferred and/or combination of experience and education
Ability to support frequent travel up to 50 to 60% - regionally, with limited international travel
Due to the visibility of this role, it requires a high degree of execution discipline, independent thinking, and a high tolerance to ambiguity
Track record of systematically identifying new customer, product category, and/or market TAM; Building strategies/business case/growth initiatives to systematically address new growth areas
Ability to lead/influence & drive cross functional teams demonstrating good time- management/organization skills
Strong passion towards identifying near term & long-term opportunities
Ability to understand problem statements and communicate solutions
Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with customers/stakeholders
Passion for both business & technology, with desire to learn and improve constantly
Exhibits integrity and does not compromise principles/core-values for an easier route
Familiar with Defense contracting & funding requirements
Working knowledge of both USML (ITAR) and CCL (EAR) requirements/controls
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
