Requirements for consideration:

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in science from a college/university recognized by regional or national accreditation agency. Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology preferred.
  • Other acceptable forms of education will follow the guidelines of ASCP/AMT Board certification.

Years of Experience:

  • 3 years of experience required.

Certification:

  • American Society for Clinical Pathology or American Medical Technologists Board certification consistent with scope of responsibility to include: Medical Lab Scientist/Medical Technologist (MLS/MT), Medical Lab Technician (MLT), Histotechnician (HT), Histotechnologist (HTL), BB, C, H, M, CT), or Laboratory Technologist Certification (HEW)

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality specimens for Laboratory testing by recognizing pre-analytical factors that adversely affect patient results.
  • To help achieve our mission, you will operate systems/methodologies in order to produce timely and accurate data for patients, quality control and proficiency testing.
  • Your ability to report clinical data accurately and efficiently is expected.
  • Participating in departmental development by demonstrating operational knowledge and adhering to regulatory standards is of vital importance.
  • Communicating effectively and working cooperatively with team members to optimize job performance and foster working relationships is required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
