Job Description
Seeking a postdoctoral associate or research associate position (depending on experience) in High Energy Theoretical Physics and String Theory in the Department of Physics at Virginia Tech. The focus of the position is on string theory, including string compactifications, sigma models, F-theory, effective theories and string geometry and phenomenology.
Required Qualifications
A strong background in string theory with a history of peer-reviewed publications is necessary.
To be considered for the research associate position, a master's degree in a relevant field and prior research experience is required.
To be considered for the postdoctoral associate position, a doctorate degree in a relevant field is required. PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.
Good collaborative skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Programming experience.
Ability to work under limited supervision.
For research associate position, some experience mentoring junior researchers is preferred.
