The Senior Graphic Designer will art direct beautiful printed materials, presentations, and web pages in support of high-dollar fundraising and other engagement efforts. Successful candidates will be able to produce visually arresting content efficiently, often on tight deadlines, by integrating words, photographs, infographics, illustrations, video, and other content in a clear and compelling way. In addition to producing material, the Senior Graphic Designer will help to set up processes and tools for repeatable design products, ensuring that our fundraising effort can be beautiful and clean, but also responsible and timely. This person will create templates for colleagues to use, will set up fonts, colors, information hierarchies, and other visual systems to help organize our content.
Ideal candidates will be expert graphic designers with a mastery of InDesign who also have familiarity with web content management systems and other digital and common digital platforms. This is a highly collaborative environment. We're looking for a Senior Graphic Designer who can not only create exquisite work, but also listen well, adjust and respond to feedback, and bring ideas to the table.
Candidates for the position will be required to submit a portfolio of five work samples produced within the past five years. These must be provided with the initial application (and can be in the form of links to websites or in attachments), and can consist of materials that were printed, displayed online, delivered in presentations, or produced for other purposes. Each sample should include a short explanation of the rationale for its design, a short explanation of its intended purpose and audience, and a short summary of results of the project.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
* Progressive experience in design teams, with added responsibility
* Experience in the communications, marketing, or creative field(s).
* Demonstrated experience in a collaborative, team environment.
* Demonstrated strength/s in both print and digital design.
* Strong portfolio of design projects, including web content and other visual materials.
* Strong experience working in Adobe Creative Suite programs, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and video creation software programs, such as premier or aftereffects.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with fundraising writing for state and/or higher education or another nonprofit sector.
* Experience interacting with major donors, key volunteers, and external stakeholders of an organization.
* Experience working in a web content management system.
* Experience in gathering or capturing photographs to incorporate visuals within communications
* Experience working in PowerPoint, Photoshop, InDesign, and video-creation software programs, such as iMovie.
