Summary: Owns executing against defined and proven systems/standards to deliver quality and centerline compliance for a line, system or business unit. Ensures excellent system execution and continuous loss elimination, while possessing mastery in process control and loss elimination to deliver the expected results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist team in developing or improving work processes and procedures. Regular review and modification of ILUs. Verification of equipment proper performance. Participate in the line loss analysis and line improvement plans, including but not limited to waste elimination and yield improvement. Focus on hold order reduction, complaint reduction, and defect reduction. Draft OPls as needed. Must deliver on identified financial, quality, safety projects. Back-up to Line Leader for assigned business. Able to work on any shift as needed. Work closely with assigned team members to address issues. Development of team, including review/identify training needs of team. Analyze daily and shift line data to identify and prioritize opportunities. Own, manage and coach the Centerline and Quality DMS system completion and compliance for assigned area of responsibility by:

  • Perform daily quality control verification on identified lines to assure process/product/package conformance to spec.
  • Assure appropriate communication and escalation of quality triggers.
  • Assure containment and inventory control for quality and food safety holds
  • Verify food safety and net weight audits are occurring by operators.
  • Research/Develop and Execute process control strategies
  • Coach system teams on Centerline DMS execution and Process control

Lead or participate in root cause problem solving efforts of key chronic losses for systems/area of responsibility and participates in CAPA root cause problem solving efforts for their line. Ensure 5S processes are followed by all. Discuss top stops/downtime and root cause. Establish countermeasures in plan for the day including outages. Spend floor time to gather information on stops, centerlines, and changeovers/mini-cleans over past 24 hours. Investigate initial root cause of top stops/downtime. Develop plan for the day for ownership areas. Attend DDS meetings to ensure quality and consistency of meetings. Work with Line Leader and Maintenance Leader to address sporadic losses. Lead Universal Problem Solving to eliminate chronic losses for the line. Participate in the internal audit program, food safety committee, CIP optimization, and sanitary design teams. Follow Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Dress Code policies. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position also has accountability for QRMP standards as outlined in the Winchester Kraft Heinz QRMP accountability document.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Thorough understanding and following of KHC and site policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Hold Tags, HACCP, QRMP, FDA, Organic Foreign Objects, Safety and Security. And the following skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and both oral and written communication skills are a must for this position
  • Capable of learning intermediate Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Word, Matrics and ZPI skills.
  • Ability to understand and coach management systems including but not limited to CIL, CLM and 5S.
  • Ability to understand and write WINs, SOPs and OPLs.
  • Can effectively lead RCFA events.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Typing skills and ability to manipulate data through the use of spreadsheets
  • Must be self-managing or have a history of being a self-starter

WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must be willing to work on any shift as needed, even though primarily a first shift position.

Personal Protective Equipment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to wear appropriate company-issued safety and GMP equipment, including: steel toe shoes that are also slip resistant, hearing protection, bump cap, and other personal protective equipment.
