Primary Responsibilities
HDR is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our electrical team in Virginia Beach or Hampton Roads. This individual will be an integral part of our team and have an opportunity to work with talented staff and be a part of one of the fastest growing and most critical segments of HDR.
Our need is for innovative design of facilities related electrical systems in support of a variety of markets including Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial and Federal Clients. As such this individual will be expected to:
This position requires experience in the design of building related electrical systems such as lighting and controls, power systems (normal and emergency), and low voltage systems (telecommunications, security). This individual should be creative, self-motivated and possess strong leadership and communication skills with a passion to deliver technically excellent electrical designs.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
* PE
* A minimum of 10 years of experience in the design of building electrical systems (lighting/power/low voltage systems) is desired
* Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm required
* Some travel required
* Extensive knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IECC and other building electrical codes required
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience utilizing Revit, SKM Power Tools and AGI Lighting Software desired
* Water/Wastewater experience a plus
* Local candidates are preferred
