The Islamic Saudi Academy is a fully accredited (Advanc-Ed) K-12 International Baccalaureate world school, operating a duel language curriculum (English/Arabic). We offer continuing professional development opportunities focusing on constructivist models of teaching and learning practices where students are at the center of the learning.  Virginia or National Board certification is preferred and our Central Office supports new teachers or those seeking endorsements.  The Academy endeavors to provide a caring, challenging and supportive learning environment where students can achieve their highest potential while exhibiting civic responsibilities and multicultural appreciation.  The academy hosts around 750 students from various countries, as well as local students.

Curriculum

The Islamic Saudi Academy is a fully bilingual, English/Arabic, college prepatory school. The curriculum includes English language arts, Arabic language arts, science, math, religion, and social studies classes. Social studies classes include U.S. history, human geography, global studies and civics. The school also offers a variety of electives, such as computer programming, web design, graphic arts, economics, psychology, fine arts, physical education and health. Starting in the 2009-2010 school year, ISA began the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to the 11th and 12th grade.

Since its establishment, the Islamic Saudi Academy has viewed its relationship with the community and culture as vital to the mission of the school. ISA not only promotes respect and mutual understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims, and Arabs and Americans, it strives for its staff and students to uphold tolerance, honesty, integrity and compassion, qualities that represent the best of both American and Arabic cultures.
