Company OverviewAmerican Tutor, Inc. is recognized by many parents, teachers and school districts as the premier SES provider in New Jersey. Thousands of students have successfully completed our after school tutoring sessions and consistently shown improvement in test scores and classroom performance.American Tutor, Inc. was founded by James M. Wegeler in May of 1998. Tutoring covered all subjects from K through college. Over several years a core of outstanding tutors helped deliver superior tutoring, test preparation and study skills to thousands of students in northern and central New Jersey. With the passage of the No Child Left Behind Act, the NJ Department of Education contacted the company to be one of the first authorized providers in the state. For the past six years American Tutor has provided Supplemental Educational Services to qualified children in more districts than any other provider in the state. We had approximately 2,600 children enrolled by their parents in our basic skills Math and Language Arts program this past school year. Those children who regularly attended our classes showed an approximate 35% increase in test scores from our assessment test to our post test. We annually report these results to the State DOE and, on a monthly basis, to parents and school districts. The company has grown from a single employee to a small family business employing eight full-time employees including three family members, plus several hundred part-time teachers. Our teachers are thoroughly screened to ensure we have the best teachers available for our programs and train them in our curriculum before they can begin instructing our students. |
